PROTECTION OF MATERIALS

If you have identified a document or item as likely to have historical value to the Wesley Methodist Church; and would like to donate it to the Archives & Heritage Committee, please keep in mind the following points in order to preserve the item. This information may also be applied to your personal collections.

1. GENERAL GUIDELINES

1.1 Store items away from direct sunlight and sources of heat or moisture. Do not store items near source of heat, or in pump rooms or near kitchens, toilets or pipes that may burst and overflow. Air-conditioners and dehumidifiers can be used to remove excess heat and moisture in hot and humid conditions.

1.2 Store items off the floor on a shelf or in a cupboard so that they do not become damaged by flooding (for instance, if a water pipe bursts, or there is a fire and the sprinkler system comes on).
