Our vision is:

To have a united team of praying people who meet to:

  1. celebrate in worship,
  2. fellowship in community,
  3. grow together in prayer,
  4. serve in the prayer ministry.

How to attain the vision?

We meet every Thursday of the month, except for last Thursdays -- we take a break then.

Each Thursday, the leader would have listened to God for the agenda. What usually happens is either one, or a combination of the following:

  1. A Worship and Intercession Night.
  2. Fellowship.
  3. Growing together in prayer - for example, learning to listen to God, ministering to one another, practicing spiritual disciplines.
  4. Serving in prayer. Prayer Team Members pray throughout one Saturday or Sunday service once a month.

Each member is part of a 4-person team of intercessors for the service. To facilitate unity and participation by all, conversational prayer is used.

Prayer Team Facts

  1. We have 40 people on board. Members should attend the Thursday meetings for spiritual formation and fellowship.
  2. The majority are in their twenties and thirties. Younger/older people are welcome.
  3. Besides being gifted in prayer, there are some who have prophetic gifts, the gifts of faith, discernment, etc. You may not know what gifts you have, but the desire to pray is itself a good start.

Our Core Values

  1. We believe prayer expresses our total reliance on God and our trust that He will supply all our needs. Prayer invites God to move and change things and people in a supernatural way.
  2. We believe that fasting, with prayer, heightens the effectiveness of the intercession ministry.
  3. We believe that holiness should be a way of life in every member of the prayer ministry.
  4. We believe in listening and submitting to one another in love; if there is a disagreement, the team leader will make the final decision.
  5. We believe that every prayer member needs to be in relationship to the others in the community of prayer; one way is for each person to pray daily for all others.
  6. We believe that in order to stay healthy, we need to multiply by inviting like-minded pray-ers into the ministry.
  7. We believe that Celebration, Community, Service and Spiritual Growth are vital elements in our prayer meetings.
  8. All prayer ministry members are covered under the following covenant:

Prayer Ministry Covenant

As participants in the Prayer Ministry, with God’s help, we will protect the unity and love one another in this body of Christ.

Therefore, we will

  1. Share our true feelings (authenticity)
  2. Encourage each other (mutuality)
  3. Support each other (sympathy)
  4. Pray for one another (prayer)
  5. Forgive each other (mercy)
  6. Speak the truth in love (honesty)
  7. Admit our weaknesses (humility)
  8. Respect our differences (courtesy)
  9. Not gossip (confidentiality)
  10. Walk in holiness (covering)
  11. Submit to our leaders (unity)
  12. And make group meetings and service intercession times a priority (frequency)

I acknowledge that I need the grace of God to carry out the terms of this covenant, and so humbly ask God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit to make this covenant real in my life and in my service to His Prayer Ministry.
