Integrating seniors in the community
through participation and interaction of the
community.

• Wesley Senior Activity Centre (WSAC) situated at
the void-deck of Block 25 in Jalan Berseh was
set up by Methodist Welfare Services (MWS) in
partnership with Wesley Methodist Church in October 2010.
Opened to seniors aged 60 years and above, WSAC serves
this group of residents living in the 2-room HDB
rental flats at Block 25 Jalan Berseh, as well as the
3- & 4-room flats nestled along the Rochor Canal,
comprising blocks 26 to 30.

• This Centre aims to improve the overall quality of life
and prevent social isolation of the vulnerable elderly
living in this block of HDB rental flats. It also hopes
to facilitate better co-ordination in the provision of
community-based support services to the seniors.
It is a drop-in centre where seniors are welcome to
come to enjoy the facilities and to participate in the
centre’s planned activities.

• The core programmes include daily exercise
conducted by staff and volunteer trainers. This is
held Monday to Friday at 9.30am, after exercise,
many stay on to enjoy a simple breakfast and the
camaraderie is infectious. There is also a sense of
ownership as the seniors help to clear the tables
and bring used cutlery and cups to the pantry for
the volunteers to wash. The centre’s philosophy of
care encourages independence and engagement,
also the goals of a seniors activity centre. Besides
exercise, karaoke sessions are held every Tuesday
and Thursday afternoons from 2.00-4.30pm.
