Missions at Wesley
Thank you for your interest in finding out more about missions at Wesley.
Why does a church like ours engage in missions work?
Dr John Piper begins his book Let the Nations Be Glad with a blunt but accurate statement:
"Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn't." ... He goes on to explain that worship is the goal of missions, because in missions we "aim to bring the nations into the white-hot enjoyment of God's glory". But worship is also the fuel of missions. "You can't commend what you don't cherish" (p. 11).
Missions is the outcome of our desire, as followers of Jesus Christ, to share His love in word and in deed with all people, but especially with those who have never encountered nor felt His love. John Wesley said he looked upon the whole world as his parish.
Missions covers many aspects. Please check the links below to find out more and also to see how you can be a part of missions at Wesley.
