Wesley MC - Worship & Music Ministry

PURPOSE: To serve God with music offering in the Worship Services at the Sanctuary on Sundays and other special services.

FUNCTIONS/ ACTIVITIES: As an important part of the liturgy, instrumental musicians provide the accompaniment for the congregational singing and entire service. Musicians and ensembles also play an important role in special services and projects during Christmas, Easter and various events outside the church.

EXPECTATIONS/ PRE-REQUISITES: Christians with sufficient musical background (preferably grade 5 and above for ensemble and grade 8 for organ) and the ability to play in  a group. Those interested will be auditioned by Jusuf Kam (Pastoral Team Member of Worship and Music Ministry) and the respective Coordinators. Regular attendance at rehearsals will be expected.

MINISTRY’S ATTRACTION: The ministry offers an expression of love, faith and gratitude to God through music. It offers glory to God and brings joy to the musicians, thus edifying both members and the congregation. The Holy Spirit inspires and ministers to the musicians, allowing them to minister to the hearts of the people. Occasional training and special projects allow grooming of talents and improvement of skills.
